How does Volunnear use my information?
Volunnear keeps the minimum: saved interests and the opportunities shown to you, and only if you agree. It does not sell information, and you can ask a coordinator to delete your saved record.

Who this applies to
This applies to everyone who chats with the assistant, whether or not you save a volunteer code.
How it works
- Chat without giving a name, phone number, or email. You do not need them to see matches.
- Share contact details only when you ask the assistant to send you something.
- Say yes only if you want your interests saved.
- To delete your saved record, ask a coordinator.
What to know
- No names, phone numbers, or emails are collected in chat unless you ask the assistant to send you something.
- Saved interests are boroughs, causes, skills, free days, and the opportunities shown to you.
- Volunnear does not sell information.
- Chat logs are kept for a short time and reviewed only to improve the service.
- Records of sent messages are set to expire after about 30 days.
- In this demo, messages go only to verified test recipients.
An example
Elena in the Bronx asks for a food pantry shift and never gives her name. She sees three matches and says no when asked to save her interests. No record is saved for her, and she signs up on the organization's page.
What we cannot do
- Delete your record from inside the chat.
- Share one person's information with another.
- Ask for payment details, passwords, or government IDs.
Need a person?
Ask for a coordinator to delete your saved record. Say "Please delete my saved record. My volunteer code is VN- and then your code."
