Volunnear

How do text messages and emails from Volunnear work?

Volunnear sends a text or email only after you say yes, and only what you asked for, such as a sign-up link or a reminder. In this demo, messages go only to verified test recipients, and a text cannot carry the sign-up link.

Who this applies to

This applies when you ask the assistant to send you a match, set a reminder, or message you about a coordinator decision.

How it works

  1. Ask the assistant to send you a match or set a reminder.
  2. Say clearly yes and give the channel, email or text, and the address or number.
  3. Read what the assistant says happened. It reports exactly what the system returned.
  4. If a text was only a short reminder or nothing was sent, use the sign-up link the assistant gives you in the chat.
  5. Reply STOP to a text to stop messages.

What to know

  • Volunnear does not send marketing messages.
  • In this demo, delivery is limited to verified test recipients.
  • Texts in this demo are short fixed templates that cannot contain the sign-up link.
  • Reminders go out about a day before the shift, with a check-in after it.
  • Reminders are set only if you said yes to them.
  • If the address or number is not a verified recipient, nothing is sent, and the assistant says so.

An example

Leo in Queens asks for a match to be emailed to him. Because this demo only sends to verified test recipients, the assistant tells him plainly that nothing was sent and shows the sign-up link right in the chat.

What we cannot do

  • Send a message without a clear yes.
  • Put a sign-up link in a text in this demo.
  • Say a message was sent when it was not.

Need a person?

Ask for a coordinator if you want messages to stop or the wrong person is getting them. Say "Please stop messages to me."
